Happy Eid Nowruz

Happy New Year

At the moment, Muslims are celebrating the New Year.  This is celebrated for thirteen days.  To help celebrate this, Elham brought in some delicious cake for Rimu Class to share.  It was delicious and somebody had three pieces.  Thanks Elham.  Check out Elham's slide below.

Storyline Online

Storyline Online

This week in Reading, we have been working on improving our retelling skills.  We listen to and watch a story being read on the site Storyline Online.
We then completed a follow up activity and created a learning object to help us with our retelling skills.
Here is an example of a story.  This is one of our favourites.

This shows how Aryan has started his follow up activity.

Next week we will continue to work on our understanding and ability to retell stories.

Top of the Mornin'

Happy St Patrick's Day

Here at Gilberthorpe School, we like to celebrate our different cultures and St Patrick's Day brings out the green in all of us.
This year to celebrate and acknowledge the Irish in all of us, we brought out our green and had a mufti day.  We had sausages for lunch and enjoyed a Duffy Theatre show to end off our day.
Here are a few pics of our day.
